EARLY ANGLO-SAXON PERIOD, (c.600-775), Continental silver sceatta, Frisian series E , variety L, (1.17 g), obv. plumed bird to right, pellet before, rev. five pointed ringlets separated by dots, (S.790L, Metcalf, Sceattas, p. 208, fig. 2). Toned, extremely fine and scarce.
