VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D.74, (3.16 g), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP [CAESAR V]ESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Vespasian seated to right on curule chair holding sceptre and branch, PON MAX TR P COS V around, (cf.S.2300, RIC 77, RSC 364). Lightly toned, missing part of obverse legend otherwise very fine and scarce.

Ex Superior, Los Angeles, in New York, December 9, 1994 (lot 931 part).
