PRIZE MEDALS, a large group awarded to P.Munro between 1920 and 1935 for 'Discus Throwing', 'Putting the Shot', 'Throwing the Javelin' and 'High Jump' (mostly Discus Throwing), in gold (17) (15ct, tot wt 207.7g and 9ct, tot wt 23.4g), silver (4) and bronze or copper (19), includes NZAAA (New Zealand Amateur Athletics Association) (30, includes 11 in gold); Amateur Athletic Union of Australasia (3, all gold) for Australasian Championships; others (7), makers noted M&K (Mayer & Kean, Wellington) and Williamson (T.P.Williamson, Dunedin). Most with ring top suspensions, very good - extremely fine, many of the base metal issues with glue marks from mounting, five in gold illustrated. (40)
