CRIMEA MEDAL 1854-56, - clasp - Alma. John Main. Scots Fusr. Gds. Impressed. Contact marks, edge nicks and bumps, otherwise fine.
Together with a letter from Scots Guards Regimental Archives that Pte John Main embarked with 1st Battalion Scots Fusilier Guards from Portsmouth on 28 February 1854 and was killed in action with the Battalion at the Battle of Alma on 20 September 1854.
