ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE sestertius, (30.33 g), Rome Mint, issued A.D. 144, obv. laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG PI VS P P TR P COS III, rev. Salus seated to left, holding patera and feeding a snake from a round altar, around SALVS PVBLICA, S C in exergue, (S.4218, RIC 638, C.739). Attractive bronze toning, struck on a large medallic flan, good very fine and scarce in this condition.
