GLENROY, Pair: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 38306 Rflm. F.N.Pickering. N.Z.E.F. Impressed; also stock medal hand engraved in gold (9ct, 6.55g, 27.5x27.5mm), no maker, ring top suspension and attached to a gold cased fob watch chain, reverse inscribed 'Presented/To/Pvt. Frank Pickering/By The Residents Of/Glenroy/On His Return/From Active Service/1919'. Fine - good very fine. (3)
Together with a Great Britain threepence, 1914 and a very worn Australian shilling, 1918M; also a small tobacco tin (83x58mm), with ribbed section on base for striking a wax match, on underside of hinged lid is marked 'T.C.Williams Co.'s/High Grade Tobacco/DIADEM/Manufactured in America'. ^^38306 Rflm Francis Norman Pickering, Reinforcements, G Company, NZ Rifle Brigade, embarked from New Zealand 13 February 1917. WIA 12 October 1917 in France and again on 5 October 1918 in France.
