EVELYN WAUGH, famous author, undated signed letter with the heading The Caledonian Hotel, Edinburgh, handwritten in ink it reads. 'Dear Sir/That sounds O.K. I ll ring you up early next week & come & see you. Yours Faithfully Evelyn Waugh'. Very fine and scarce.

Arthur Evelyn St. John Waugh, 1903-1966) was an English author of novels, biographies and travel books as well as a prolific journalist and book reviewer. Some of his best works include Decline and Fall (1928), a handful of Dust (1934), Brideshead Revisited (1945) and the trilogy Sword of Honour. He is recognised as one of the giants of 20th century English literature and one of the greatest prose stylists of the 20th century.
