ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.520 B.C.), silver stater, (8.03 g) on broad thin flan, obv. ear of barley in high relief, to right METAP retrograde, circled border with dots, rev. ear of corn incuse, lined incused border, (cf.S.235, Noe [NN&M 32] Class V, No.142, HN 1481, SNG Ashmolean 653). Lightly toned, good very fine and rare.

Ex Kunker Auktion 397, lot 2072. Previously acquired in January 1971 for DM 833,75. With tickets.^
