THRACE, Abdera, (c.480 B.C.), silver drachm or tetrobol (3.26 g), period III 492-473/70 B.C., obv. griffin springing to left, **D* EO around, rev. incuse quadripartite square, (S.1530, BMC 41 [same dies], May 94, [same dies], SNG Lockett 1120 [same dies], Nanteul 702, HGC 3.2, 1144). Toned, very fine and very rare.
