ZEUGITANIA, Carthage, The Carthaginians in Sicily and North Africa, (c.245 B.C.), billon tridrachm or one and a half shekel, (13.68 g), obv. head of Tanit to left, crowned with wreath of corn, wearing earring with single pendant and necklace, rev. free horse standing to right, palm tree with fruit behind, (cf.S.6494, Jenkins [Pl.27, 8 dates 240-230 B.C. p.135], SNG Cop. 190-1 [dates 264-241 B.C.], MAA 44, CNP 164, Visona 34 [notes as billon double shekel and dates 238-230 B.C.]). Well centred, fine - very fine and scarce.
