THRACE, Augusta Trajana, Greek Imperial with emperor portraits, various issues all in packets described, including Caracalla, (AD 198-217), AE 31mm, (17.79 g), obv. laureate bust of Caracalla draped to left holding spear and shield decorated with facing head of Medusa, rev. city gate flanked by two towers with third in background, (cf.Varbanov 1100) (illustrated); another similar, AE 29mm, (17.38 g), obv. laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. Artemis advancing right, hound at feet, (cf.Varbanov -, BMC -, SNG Cop.-); AE 19mm, (4.29 g), obv. laureate draped bust to right, rev. Caracalla standing left, holding Victory and sceptre, captive at feet, (cf.Varbanov 1137 variety). Fine - good very fine, all very scarce. (3)
