CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND, prize medal (38mm) in gold (15ct; 25.43g), reverse inscribed, 'Royal/Agricultural Society's Show/Perth, W.A.,/Awarded To/M.T.Padbury,/Koojan Mid.Ry.W.A.,/For/"Baron Hillside" (71)/1919.' (Armstrong & Carlisle p321), in plush leather case with clear panel on lid for viewing. Extremely fine.

Baron Hillside, was the Western Australian champion Clydesdale stallion owned by Matthew Thomas Padbury, formerly a member of the Queen's Own Oxfordshire Hussars in England before settling in Western Australia on the property at Koojan, Midland Railway, Western Australia established by his uncle, Walter Padbury. Baron Hillside also won a gold medal in 1917 and again in 1918.
