VALENS, (A.D. 364-378), gold solidus, Cyzicus Mint, issued 364-7, (4.00 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valens around DN VALENS PER F AVG, rev. Valens standing facing head to right, holding labarum and Victory on globe, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, * SMK**G* in exergue, (S.19566, RIC IX 2c, C.32). Holed for suspension, nearly very fine and scarce.
