CHARLES I, (1625-1649), pattern five broad piece 'the Juxon Medal', electrotype in gilt bronze, in plush presentation case by Spink & Son Ltd, 'I.Z.M from A.C.E.M. 3rd Sept. 1935). Extremely fine.
The original ex Montagu Collection, coin purchased by Spink & Son Ltd for the British Museum and remains unique. The medal was handed by Charles I to Bishop Juxon while on the scaffold prior to Charles' execution.
