KYRENAICA, Kyrene, (c.480-435 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.24 g, Asiatic standard), obv. Silphium plant, rev. head of Zeus-Ammon right in dotted border within concave circle, traces of **KVP* to right of head, (cf.S.6262, SNG Cop. 1178, BMC 54, Buttrey Coins Period II Group 1 92). Old scratch on obverse, some porosity, toned, very fine and very rare.
