JULIUS CAESAR, (assassinated 44 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Caesar in Greece, issued 48 B.C., (3.96 g), obv. female head (Clementia) wearing oak wreath to right, with LII behind, rev. trophy with Gallic shield and carnyx, to right axe, below CAE SAR, (S.1400, Cr.452/2, Syd. 1009, RSC 18). Slightly off centred, otherwise very fine with light tone, scarce.
