CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius (3.35g), Rome mint, issued 199 AD, obv. laureate and draped bust of young Caracalla right, IMP CAES M AVR ANTONNINVS AVG around, rev. Caracalla in military dress standing left, holding a globe surmounted by Victory in right hand, and an upturned spear in left, PONTIFEX TR P II around (S.6740; RIC IV 27a; RSC 1406). Pleasent light gray tone with golden highlights, nearly extremely fine.

Ex S.J. Green Collection, purchased from Heritage Auctions 231622 (lot 61046). Previously in a slab by NGC as Ch XF (certificate number 4247554-030).
