THRACE, Hadrianopolis, Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), AE 27, (9.608 grams), obv. Gordian III laureate bust to right draped and cuirassed, around legend AVK M AN T **GORDIANO*C AVT, rev. Four column temple on podium, Artemis standing within to right, around **ADRI A NO POLEI, TWN in exergue, (cf.S.3652, Price and Trell 97, Mouchmov Pl.XIX, 8). Dark green patina, good fine/very fine and a very rare for this reverse.

An issue of Ovinius Tertullus. Pick knew of only one poor example at Gotha.
