U.S.A., Virginia halfpenny, an extraordinary double strike and mistruck piece, 1773, (Yeoman p.24). Extremely fine, double struck on a clipped planchet, with clear dates and a trace of original mint bloom, probably unique as a mistrike in this condition.
Ex H.P. Whittle Collection. In 1773 coinage of a copper halfpenny was authorised for Virginia by the Crown.
