PUPIENUS, (238 A.D.), silver antoninianus, Rome Mint, (4.35 g), obv. Radiate bust to right, of Pupienus draped and cuirassed seen from behind, around IMP CAES PVPIEN MAXIMVS AVG, rev. PATRES SENATVS around, two clasped hands, (S.8522, RIC 11b, BMC 92-94, C.21). Toned, very fine, rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 107 (lot 3853) and also coming from an old Hungarian collection.
