WILLIAM I, (1066-1087), silver penny, Two sceptres type, London Mint, issued 1072-1074, (1.32 g), obv. crowned diademed bust facing with a sceptre at each side, PILLELMVS REX AN around rev. cross fleury with annulet in centre, over saltire botonne, around +BLIICSIINII ON LIIN (Blacsun of London), (S.1253, North 844, BMC iv). Toned, good very fine and very rare.

Ex Mark E. Freehill Collection, from Noble Numismatics Sale 51 (lot 1171) and previously from the Mack Collection (Auction I, 228), and also Mack Sylloge (1373), the Ridgemount Collection and Spink Auction Sale 69 (lot 113).
