SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius II, (145-140 B.C. first reign), silver tetradrachm, (15.740 grams), Seleucia on Tigris mint, obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within fillet border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, in exergue monogram TAY. to right **[B]ASILEW[S] DHMHTRIOU*, to left **FILADELFOU NKATORO[S]*, (S.7053, SNG Spaer (Israel I) 1752 [Pl.113], ACNAC Houghton 1010). Bright, nearly very fine and scarce.
