CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, on a George III halfpenny shaved smooth on both sides, stipple engraved on one side, "John/Tombs/Wheatley/July 3rd" and on the other side, "Forget/Me not/When far/Away/1849". Good very fine.
John Wheatley, aged 19, trade unknown, sentenced to 7 years in the colonies for pocket picking. Arrived in Western Australia on 30 April 1853. With research.
