EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I, (323-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, issued 305-283 B.C., (13.600 grams), Alexandria mint, obv. diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, with aegis, **D* behind head, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front P over monogram MY, around **BASILEWS [PTO]LEMAIOU*, (S.7762, Sv. 253, BMC 51 [p.19]). Grey tone, graffiti, banker's marks and flan crack, otherwise nearly extremely fine and scarce in this condition.
